Jean-Baptiste Franc Delivers Impromptu Performance in New York City

Description

Jean-Baptiste Franc created his own style by mixing melodic improvisation and stride. His influences are Don Lambert, James P. Johnson, Fats Waller and Sidney Bechet, and Jean-Baptiste Franc is playing Ray Charles’ music as well. In 2001, he played with Louis Armstrong’s bassist, Arwell Shaw in New York and that same year, he performed at the Lincoln Center for the Summer Jazz Festival with drummer Daniel Bechet.
